WOMEN OF GOD

"Women of God can never be like women of the world.
The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender.
There are enough women who are course; we need women who are kind.
There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined.
We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith.
We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity."

Margaret D. Nadauld, November 2000

Frequently I desire to be known by many. I wanted to be famous since I was five, and wanted to have all the "wonderful things" as set out by the world. Though, as I have grown, I have found that the things that I thought would bring about the most happiness, frequently bring about the chains of sorrow and sin. Those things that I deemed unimportant to a mortals happiness have, in fact, been the building blocks to eternal bliss. I still have desires to be an actress, under the lights of the stage. What a thrill that is. But as I become more like a women of God I find myself happy with who I am as a person, satisfied with my strengths, and willing to train my weaknesses, or to yet become content with them as the case may fall. Proverbs 31:25-31 speaks of the kind of attributes a woman of God would possess. It is my goal to be known as a woman of God, and let the world have its women of unhappiness. For in the end I would rather be numbered among the women of virtue, faith, kindness, humility, charity, and purity than to be numbered with those of unholiness, vanity, and cruelty.
